The Prism Initiative

Shaping the Future of Mental Health—One Therapist at a Time

Black and Brown communities face significant mental health challenges—but remain deeply underrepresented among licensed therapists. Prism is a transformative initiative to change that. Led by Our Therapy Lab, Prism builds pathways for underrepresented individuals to become empowered mental health professionals.

Why Prism?

  • Over 70% of licensed mental health professionals in the U.S. are white.

  • Clients of color are more likely to drop out of therapy due to cultural mismatch.

  • Systemic barriers—like the cost of education and lack of mentorship—prevent many aspiring therapists from completing their training.
