Community-Centered Therapy.
A Future-Driven Mission.

Our Story

Our Therapy Lab began as a student-run, low-cost therapy clinic in Indianapolis, created to make affirming mental health care accessible to people from all walks of life. With supervision from licensed clinicians, we helped train emerging therapists and supported nearly 100 individuals, couples, and families.

We quickly saw something bigger at play:
The clients who needed therapy most were also the ones struggling to find culturally competent care. And the future therapists best equipped to offer that care—Black and Brown students—were being held back by structural barriers.

Our Evolution

Our Therapy Lab has grown quickly, and so has our vision. We have come to realize that healing our community means more than just providing affordable therapy. It means reshaping the system of mental healthcare.

That's why we launched The Prism Initiative: a bold new program dedicated to increasing the number of Black and Brown mental health professionals in our community.

Our Beliefs

  • Everyone deserves access to culturally affirming, high-quality care.

  • Representation matters—both in therapy rooms and in leadership.

  • The next generation of therapists should reflect the communities they serve.

  • Systems must be redesigned with equity and sustainability in mind.
