Jenna Phillips

Graduate Student

Hey there, I'm Jenna (she/her), thrilled to embark on my residency at Our Therapy Lab. My journey began with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood and Special Education before delving into the pursuit of a Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Capella University. As a member of both the American Mental Health Counseling Association and the Indiana Counseling Association, I'm committed to continual growth and learning in the field.

My approach centers on catering to individuals from BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, leveraging my experience and expertise to foster understanding and empowerment. While my focus aligns with these communities, I'm open to working with clients from all backgrounds who resonate with my approach.

As a queer intersectional counselor, I aim to cultivate acceptance and inclusivity by validating my clients' emotions and experiences. I offer guidance to navigate challenges and develop resilience, fostering an empowering environment that enables clients to reach their potential and find solutions.

My professional focus spans supporting same-sex parents through parental challenges, including navigating infertility and trying to conceive (TTC). Additionally, I've worked extensively with women of color facing mental health challenges related to reproductive health. These experiences have shaped my belief in the critical need for mental health support among marginalized communities.

Post my Masters, I aspire to continue my journey with Our Therapy Lab to obtain my license. I anticipate immense growth and development in my professional journey.

Outside work, I cherish moments with family, and friends, and actively engage in LGBTQ community events. You'll often find me enjoying workouts or connecting with nature. If you catch me at my go-to spot, The Avenue, don't miss trying the Avenue with Oat Milk—it's a game-changer!
